We thank our guests for their heartwarming comments and reviews on our bed and breakfast in the Berkshires.
“Having been friends for twenty years, and with our parents’ blessing, my fiancé and I decided that we had waited long enough to be married. With the demands of two careers, a toddler and plans for a big family wedding weighing on us, we wanted a simple ceremony for ourselves- right away!
We found The Gateway Inn online through Google. The photos were charming, the website was informative and, when we called, Michele was friendly and accommodating. She made us feel comfortable with the speed with which we were moving and, even though she and her husband, the proprietors, would be out of town, she went well out of her way to make our oddly timed Tuesday afternoon wedding nothing short of perfect. She coordinated with a local Justice of the Peace, called in their chef on his or her day off, allowed us to choose from any items on their menus and ensured that we had a bartender and server that would see that we had everything we needed for our wedding dinner. She even ordered a cake to our specifications.
When we arrived, Shelly greeted us warmly and informed us that we had been upgraded to a suite. The Miranda was a gorgeous but comfortable set of rooms- the sort that you instantly upload to Facebook and never want to leave! Everything that you could need, from basic amenities to more thoughtful details (bath salts, makeup remover, a rubber duck in the tub!) was present without asking, leaving us with nothing to do but enjoy.
After a brief but beautiful ceremony on the staircase, we enjoyed time in the parlor all to ourselves. It must be challenging to serve a couple on their wedding night, balancing their desire for privacy with the best of care. But Paula was perfection. She was thoughtful and engaging, and made some of the best cocktails we’ve ever tasted! Dinner was perfectly prepared to our specifications and served such that we could draw out and enjoy our special evening together.
We spent two restful nights at the inn, enjoying the quiet comfort of the setting, delicious largely homemade breakfasts and the charm of the Berkshires. On our final morning, we were met and congratulated by the innkeeper, Eiran, who was just as welcoming as his establishment. Though we missed our daughter, we hated to leave and booked for our anniversary before we did.
We could not recommend an inn or venue more highly, and hope that this review leads other couples to as wonderful an experience as our wedding was.”
“Just a note to thank you for our wonderful stay last weekend. Even though we have been coming for eight years there are always new and exciting things to discover. This year we changed rooms for the first time. We were a bit worried about having to carry our luggage up and down the stairs but fortunately, our gym workouts have paid off. We totally loved the room that we chose and we would love to stay there again next year.
You have made some great changes to the inn and it is very noticeable. We love your hands-on approach and we couldn’t have asked for better service.”
“Staying at the Gateways Inn remains a highlight of our trip. Michele is full of helpful information – where to dine, where to go, what to see. Talking with her about food is an added treat. For breakfast, she prepares flaky, whole-wheat croissants; high protein granola; fruity, whole grain pancakes; and yogurt, to name a few of her specialties. The Inn was luxurious and casual, the town of Lenox delightful.”
“This B&B is absolutely gorgeous, is quaint, spotless, perfectly decorated, has excellent food, great service, and even a nightlife! There were no complaints at all. The Innkeepers, Michele and Eiran, were extraordinarily friendly, knowledgeable of the area, charming, humorous, and most hospitable. Their Inn is completely renovated with modern bathrooms, fireplaces, amazing towels, and a very comfortable bed. Eiran checks you in and assists with your luggage. He explains the workings of the room and house information. Michele takes care of the kitchen and is there all day. They are both conversationalists and go above and beyond what is expected. The Inn is really beautiful inside and out, has a full-service bar (unheard of at B&B’s) that serves food until 11:00 p.m.! They have live music both Friday and Saturday. This is really a must if you are looking for a great weekend getaway.”
“We were with a group of 10 for a birthday party – SO much fun! Great location within walking distance of most everything in Lenox, lovely rooms, fabulous food, enchanting hosts, great piano bar. Just fabulous!!”
“It is difficult to find enough superlatives to describe the Inn. It is beautiful to look at, has a wonderful location in the heart of Lenox, has breakfasts to die for and certainly not least, wonderful hosts, Michele and Eiran. Michele’s fruit pancakes were so yummy as was the asparagus/brie omelette and vegetable frittata. Don’t miss out on the granola, it is a feast in itself and we even brought two jars home with us. The singer and pianist in the Piano Bar on Thursday evening were remarkably good as was the bar food. We will have to return soon as Michele has promised to refill our granola jars. Thanks so much for a delightful mini vacation.”
“We were given a gift certificate by our children and it turned out to be a double treat. The ride, the Inn, the owners, the room, the ambiance, the trio that played and sang, the piano player all made for a surprising, wonderful and memorable mini vacation. Owe thanks to all for making good memories. The Inn is located in a great location, lots to walk to and see and/or buy. The Innkeepers make you comfortable and feel like family. The breakfasts are great and the restaurant is wonderful with great wines and excellent food. All in all, a huge success and fabulous choice. Thanks all!”
“My friend and fellow yoga teacher and I were in Kripalu Yoga Center for a workshop and decided to stay at Gateways Inn, which I found on Trip Advisor! The Inn was as good as all the reviews said it would be—charming, beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean. Michele was an especially welcoming and fun hostess. When she heard we could not have breakfast at the Inn since we were leaving for the Yoga Center too early in the morning, she put delicious homemade granola, yogurt and fruit in our refrigerator so we could eat (very, very early!) before our morning meditation session. I can’t wait to come back with my husband very soon. I would highly recommend this Inn–one of the nicest places I have stayed. Enjoy!”
